We seek to promote the rights of transgender students throughout the world by spreading awareness, changing policy, and encouraging grassroots activism on local, regional, and national levels. We see that transgender students do not have what they need to ensure a chance at an equal education, and we are working to change that. We believe that guidelines should be set for school administrations, and that transgender students should play active roles in discussion about their accommodations.
TSR is trying to create leaders, advocates, and organizers in as many regions as possible. Our goal is to have a student leader or pair of leaders for every country in which TSR works. Each state/ province should also have a leader or a pair of leaders, who will periodically confer with the leaders of the country. Those state organizers will try to expand TSR's efforts within their state and will hear feedback from different advocates across the region.
This creates a clear chain of command and allows for a grassroots movement to take place in a coordinated and comprehensive effort. If you'd like to get involved at any level of TSR, please let us know.
